You can also set it up to be message-only with specific commands and answers!

What can I do with Text Privately?

Text Privately was designed to give you secure private virtual disposable phone numbers.

You can send text messages to your virtual number and mask your phone or receive text messages to any phones you own without ever revealing your real phone number, log your conversations, leave a message to anyone who sends you a text, blacklist texters, or suspend your virtual phone number.

Why use Text Privately?

If you have several businesses and wish to appear as if you have multiple phone numbers, Text Privately will allow you to achieve that at very affordable rates.

You can also use your virtual phone numbers for security purposes and if you prefer to have a new number every month, you can simply cancel your virtual phone number at any time and add a new one from anywhere in the United States and Canada.

Can I send text messages with Text Privately?

You can send text messages to others by sending your virtual number a text message. Here is the comand:

  • 17125555555:hi there! — OR — 17125555555 hi there!

You can make this easier for yourself and add that number as an alias by typing this command:

  • add 17125555555:john
    17125555555 becomes john

Once you receive confirmation that the alias was added, you can now type this command:

  • john:hi there! — OR — john hi there!
    17125555555 becomes john

Want to remove John as an alias? Type this command:

  • del john
John will no longer be recognized as an alias.

Note: You cannot have the same alias twice in reference to two different numbers. For example, if you were to add John Smith and John Jones, you cannot have "john" as the alias for both. You will need to distinguish between the two people such as johns and johnj.

  • list
A list of all of your alises will be sent to you.

Can I send text messages to a bunch of numbers with Text Privately?

You can send text messages to mass numbers by sending your virtual number a text message.

Similar to the alias feature, you must assign each or your contacts to a group and texting that group will send the entire group a text message.

  • family:hi everyone, will be late for dinner tonight!
  • friends:lets all meet up at the pub later tonight around 7!
  • coworkers:did anyone see the latest report?
